Mykola Tomenko: The Meetings of the Election Headquarters of the Candidates for Presidency shall not be held at the Expense of the Budget Funds
"It seems to me that at present, the Parliament is occupied with peculiar energy of the date 09.09.09, therefore, everybody is excited and nervous. It may be caused by those three figures", - declared the Vice-Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine during the briefing at the Parliament.
"Extra factor of today´s fighting is promulgation of the Law "On President´s Elections" and it impresses politicians who are already de-facto candidates for presidency", - he declared.
M. Tomenko called on the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada and leaders of the factions with a request to observe the situation peacefully, declaring that the building of the parliament were not to be considered as the places for propaganda organized at the expense of the budget funds.
The Vice-Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada informed that the BYuT faction remains on the position that the parliament must work for the country and its citizens, not for the political teams or candidates for presidency. "I would like to inform that owing to our activeness and activeness of our colleagues from other factions, the sitting of the Budget Committee was held, although without the participation of the Party of Regions faction. I am convinced that only due to the constructive approach we will hear the solutions aimed at the assistance to the citizens of Ukraine. It is the only correct pursuit that will render the opportunity for the parliament to work", - M. Tomenko emphasized.
"I am totally convinced in my personal position and thus registered the Resolution "On the work of the Verkhovna Rada during the period of the President´s of Ukraine elections campaign" in the Parliament as an extreme measure to convince everybody that if one does not want to work here, one should not sit at the Verkhovna Rada at the expense of the budget funds but should occupy seats in their own pre-elections offices. Otherwise, I will insist that the Deputies should work in districts during ninety days and occupy the status of a "leave without pay". In my opinion, it saves money for the country, and we will change that emotional political state when nearly ten candidates for the post of the president hold their press-conferences at the building of the Verkhovna Rada dwelling on the topic how sincerely they love Ukraine",- the Vice-Chairman explained.
